THE
CHAMPIONS RACE
The Champions’ Race – Where the Best Rise to the Occasion
The Champions’ Race is the pinnacle showcase event of the Singapore Sea Regatta — an exclusive invitational race featuring some of the fastest and most accomplished dragonboat crews in the region. Bringing together top-performing teams from major local races such as the Singapore Dragon Boat Festival, alongside Singapore’s national dragonboat athletes, this race is a celebration of elite competition, excellence, and the relentless pursuit of greatness.
More than just a battle for speed, the Champions’ Race represents the highest ideals of the sport — discipline, sportsmanship, teamwork, and mutual respect among competitors. As the top crews line up against one another on the waters of Marina Bay, spectators can expect an electrifying display of athleticism and strategy, where every stroke counts and champions are forged through grit and unity.
Through this race, the Singapore Sea Regatta honours the dedication and hard work of the dragonboat community, while inspiring the next generation of paddlers to strive for excellence both on and off the water.
THE
KITCHEN SINK RACE
The Kitchen Sink Race – Where Creativity Meets Chaos
The Kitchen Sink Race is one of the most entertaining and unconventional highlights of the Singapore Sea Regatta — a lighthearted challenge where teams must race 50 metres without using traditional dragonboat paddles. Instead, crews are tasked with propelling their boats forward using kitchen utensils such as spatulas, ladles, frying pans, whisks, wooden spoons, and anything else they dare to bring into the boat.
Designed to celebrate creativity, humour, and team spirit, the Kitchen Sink Race reminds everyone that dragonboating is not just about fierce competition, but also about community, laughter, and shared experiences. Teams are encouraged to get inventive with their “equipment,” with many embracing themed costumes, outrageous strategies, and plenty of friendly banter along the way.
While the race may be chaotic, the spirit behind it is simple — bringing people together through fun, imagination, and the joy of doing something completely ridiculous on the water. Whether you win or wipe out spectacularly trying, the Kitchen Sink Race promises unforgettable memories for both participants and spectators alike.
THE
ROJAK RACE
The Rojak Race – A Celebration of Unity in the Dragonboat Community
The Rojak Race is a unique and spirited dragonboat race designed to break boundaries and bring people together — just like the dish it's named after. In this one-of-a-kind event, participants from different teams are mixed to form new, diverse crews. Instead of racing with their usual teammates, paddlers must collaborate with strangers-turned-friends from across the local and international dragonboat community.
The primary aim of the Rojak Race is to promote interaction, understanding, and camaraderie among paddlers from all walks of life. More than just a race, the Rojak Race is about building bridges. It unites local and international teams on a shared platform, creating opportunities to connect beyond borders. Another key highlight is the inclusion of paddlers from both public and private healthcare sectors — offering a rare opportunity to connect, collaborate, and grow relationships beyond the workplace.
Through shared effort, teamwork, and the thrill of competition, the Rojak Race not only exemplifies the spirit of inclusivity but also reinforces the core values of unity, respect, and collaboration that lie at the heart of the sport.
